Hi. I’m Flynn.
Yes, I’m big. Yes, you can pet me. Please pet me.
Officially, I’m an oversized Golden Retriever with a lot of feelings and a serious commitment to being involved in everything. Unofficially, I’m the bodyguard, the morale booster, and the guy who thinks he’s absolutely qualified to sit on your lap despite weighing over 100 pounds.
If you live with a dog who believes love is best expressed through full-body contact, enthusiastic participation, and an unwavering focus on treats, then we’re already on the same page.
My personality in a nutshell
I am friendly, earnest, and deeply motivated by affection.
I love people. I love dogs. I love walks, fetch, praise, and being told I’m a good boy — which, for the record, I am. I also take my responsibilities seriously, even if I look a little goofy doing it.
I’m known as “the derp,” but don’t let that fool you. I pay attention, I try hard, and I want to do things right. Sometimes I get distracted by leaves. Or birds. Or my own feet. But my heart is always in the work.
Why I rep the pork (and Drool Approve it)
Big bodies need dependable fuel.
Between daily walks, play sessions, roughhousing with friends, and training for competitive obedience, I need protein that supports strength, stamina, and recovery — without upsetting my very sensitive stomach. Pork does exactly that.
It’s rich, satisfying, and easy on my system, which means I can focus on doing my job instead of worrying about how I feel. Pork keeps me moving, training, and showing up as the best version of myself.
That earns my approval. Drool approved.
My treat and chew expectations
I take treats very seriously.
Because of my stomach sensitivities, I only eat Smidgin & Company treats and chews. They’re the ones that agree with me, and I don’t like to gamble with my wellbeing — even if I am tempted to steal snacks when no one’s looking.
My standards are simple:
- Real, human-grade meat only.
- Treats that are gentle on my stomach.
- Chews that help me settle and focus.
- Rewards worth working for — enthusiastically.
I will sit. I will heel. I will also stare into your soul until you comply.
Life with my people (and my duties)
I am the official bodyguard of the smaller dogs. I take this role very seriously, even though I am also very friendly.
I love walks most of all. They’re my favourite time of day. I’m currently training in competitive obedience, working toward CKC titles, because apparently being lovable isn’t enough — I want credentials.
At home, I thrive on connection. Touch me and I will close my eyes like it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Because honestly, it probably is.
