Meet Daisy

Hello. I’m Daisy Mae.

Yes, that Daisy—the five-year-old Maltese-Pekingese currently leading daily expeditions while my humans hustle to keep up.

Officially, I’m small. Unofficially, I’m an adventurer, trail companion, and full-time morale booster with a packed calendar and very strong opinions about fresh air. I love my people deeply, I take my outdoor time seriously, and I approach every day like it’s an opportunity to go somewhere new—preferably somewhere sandy, snowy, or slightly muddy.

If you live with a dog who lights up the moment shoes go on, locks into commands even when the world is exciting, and wears a very obvious smile on every outing, then we already speak the same language.

My personality in a nutshell

I’m cheerful, curious, and quietly confident about how things should be done.

I listen well. I respond quickly. I take pride in being tuned in, even when distractions are everywhere. That didn’t happen by accident. It came from consistent training since puppyhood, clear expectations, and rewards that actually made the effort worthwhile.

I love adventure, but I also love doing things properly. I pay attention because I want to. And yes—if I look like I’m smiling while I’m working, it’s because I am.

Why I rep the fish (and Drool Approve it)

An active life needs the right kind of fuel. Plus, I live in Nova Scotia so I know a thing or two about fish!

Between daily woods walks, the Trans Canada Trail, beach runs at the family cottage, paddleboarding, snowshoeing, Jeep rides, river swims, and the occasional motorcycle adventure, I need rewards that keep me light on my paws and ready for the next thing.

Fish does exactly that. It’s clean, motivating, and easy to work for, even when the environment is full of smells, sounds, and excitement. It supports focus, stamina, and fast response without slowing me down—which matters when your idea of a good day involves movement.

That earns my approval. Drool approved.

My treat and chew expectations

If you want instant recall on a beach or attention on a busy trail, your treats need to deliver.

My standards are simple:

  • Open the bag and reward immediately.
  • Real, human-grade meat with a smell that cuts through excitement.
  • Small, repeatable pieces for training on the go.
  • Something I’ll happily work for, even when adventure is calling.

I’ve been trained with Smidgin Snacks my whole life, and it shows. (Though between us, I do have a soft spot for the beef lung bites.)

Life with my people (and my other job)

When I’m not adventuring, I help run the flower farm.

I move back and forth between the studio and the greenhouse, supervising planting, watering, cutting, arranging, and fitting in naps wherever the light is best. I’m excellent company, a reliable listener, and very good at reminding everyone to pause and enjoy what they’re doing.

Every day looks a little different around here, and I like it that way.

If you’re still reading, you’re clearly one of the clever ones.

You scanned the bag. That tells me you notice details, and I respect that.

As a quiet little thank-you, you may want to remember the phrase OFFTHEHOOK. It will unlock 20% off fish-based rewards the next time you’re packing for your own adventures.

No fuss. Just a nod between explorers.
